Pumping the brakes

Hi, lovely subscribers. I don’t have any news or gossip for you today, just a statement from the heart.

You might have noticed these emails coming less frequently. I have to be 100% honest with you — writing this newsletter right now isn’t as fun as it once was.

When I started this last December, FBB was an outlet to call out bad, weird, and loser-y founder behavior and find solace in the ridiculousness of tech.

Nearly 8 months later, I’m struggling to find entertainment in watching powerful men ruin institutions. Especially knowing how much of that money and power stems from the tech world (the Elon Musks, Peter Thiels, Mark Zuckerbergs, et al.) and can move seemingly unchecked within systems that should protect us.

I haven’t been on the hunt for founder gossip lately because, honestly, my mental health is doing — as Dorinda Medley would say — not well, bitch.

I’m not shutting the whole thing down, but I have been pumping the brakes and shifting my focus to other things. Right now, I’m searching for more good in our little corner of the business world instead of the bad.
